Hi guys! Sorry for the lack of posts in the past week or so. Life has been super busy!
Tomorrow is Seattle’s 2nd showing of the See Jane Run half marathon, a race that I signed up for just a couple of weeks ago on a whim. Zozi had an amazing deal on this race and who doesn’t love chocolate and champagne? I sure do.
While I’ve lacked much running since the injuries at the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego full marathon and the RNR Seattle half, I’m going to try my best tomorrow to get through tomorrow’s race.
Here’s the course. I love that the majority of it is a route that I run along Lake Union as we live in Eastlake.
Then… oh yeah, I was crazy and decided for redemption by signing up for the Portland Marathon in October. I only have 12 weeks to train for this, but I decided that I really needed to do this to redeem myself for having a less-than-ideal first full marathon experience (i.e. the tripping, chin-planting, etc.) in June. So, yes, I will be starting back up full marathon training…. next week.
Till then, I’ll be enjoying my last few days of no structure.
Need to sign off now so that I can get my race gear ready for tomorrow and get some beauty sleep.
I leave you with a completely re-vamped running playlist for tomorrow’s race. Includes about 10 new songs added in. Let me know your thoughts on this list. Do you have any favorite must-have running songs that I should add to my collection? I noticed that I have a strong affinity for upbeat female pop singers. It’s just what gets me pumped up and going, I suppose!
Race recap to come soon. Wish me luck!
Love your playlist – I think we have very similar tastes in music. Plus, I also love that a lot of your songs are the explicit versions. There’s something about f-bombs and asses that just makes me run faster. Here’s my current playlist: http://lulurunnerlove.wordpress.com/2012/05/29/my-current-playlist/
Thanks! Love your playlist too. I downloaded a ton of new songs last night and ended up playing “We Run the Night” by Havana Brown probably 5-6 times. It’s super loud, super motivating, and I just blasted it every moment I felt like I needed a boost. I’d highly recommend adding that song to your playlist!
