Friends! The past two nights I’ve had dinner at a relatively new restaurant, in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, called 8oz Burger Bar.
Everything I’ve had has been so so delicious! Last night I had The 8oz Burger which was topped with some delicious truffle aioli, Beechers cheese, bacon. Or at least that’s what I recall from the menu. Joe proclaimed this the “best burger I’ve ever had.”
Tonight I had their Fillet of Fish, fried of course. I don’t know about you but I’ve always been a fan of McD’s Fillet o’ Fish. Some might find that gross, but I find it decent. 8oz BB’s fish sandwich had perfectly fried fish, arugula, and a delicious tartar sauce. I was so ravenous from running 6 miles tonight that I devoured the whole thing. Of course, I offered a couple bites to Joe but I basically demolished it.
However, that’s not all we had tonight. We started off by sharing their Chocolate Malt shake. I’m not exaggerating when I say that it might be the best shake I’ve ever had. There were chocolate chunks in it, for crying out loud. I’m a fan of sweets and starting my meal with half a shake helped satisfy my sweet tooth.
We also had their garlic fries, delicious, not quite like the ones you can get at Safeco Field M’s baseball games, more crunchy less greasy. There were also the fried green tomatoes and their onion rings. Both were quite good, very crunchy and crispy and not greasy. Obviously, for me, tonight was a fried food feast. Thank goodness for marathon training. 🙂 Oh, before I forget, I’d recommend their mashed potatoes which I had last night while at dinner with my friend Brooke. Yum!
On top of the delish food, the server (who wore a cowboy hat) was fantastic, never super pushy or annoying, attentive just at the right level. Plus the atmosphere and decor is very dimly-lit, intimate, cool neighborhood hangout spot.
All in all, I’m a fan of this place. You won’t regret going. 🙂 They’ve only been open for one month, so hurry on over. They’ve got HH late afternoon and then from 9pm on. For any industry folks out there, I guess you can get 1/2 off your tab on Sunday nights from 8pm on by showing your health permit (food handlers permit?)
Enjoy. Cheers!
